Little Fishy

"Catch me if you can Dad...." Kaden was crawling at full speed through the water. There were fountains and slides everywhere...he was in Heaven. I am not sure he got the correlation that when he splashes as much and as hard as he can, he gets water in his eyes, nose, and mouth and can't breath or see. But.....he didn't care about those minor necessities. It was time to PLAY!

"AHHHHHH!!!!!! It's gonna get us!!!!"

"Don't worry Dad...this stuff is FUN!" Matt was so much fun for Kaden. He would swim under and around him and come up really fast and Kaden laughed harder than ever. He sang the Jaws theme and attacked Kaden and that was hilarious. Kaden knew what was coming and went nuts splashing, laughing, and screaming. It definitely was the highlight of our week.

Light in the Dark

All of these pictures are of Kaden...but he has been the sunshine lately. We haven't blogged in so long because last weekend we hade a HUGE snowstorm, and it was crazy! We got over 3 FEET of snow in a couple of days and it was really wet, HEAVY snow. It took me forever to shovel our driveway. We didn't have electricity for 4 days! So....it was a little dark in our house. We got out a lot though (once we un-burried ourselves). We went to the pool, to movies, etc. So....while it was dark in our house, we just took lots of funny pictures of our little Mr.

He makes this weird face a lot.....not sure why. Sometimes he sucks both lips in and looks like a little fish. It's so funny. His little personality is really starting to show and he cracks me up at the things he will do. SO FUN.

Look at those little teeth! They are still the ONLY teeth in his mouth. He is bound to get some sometime soon! I am thinking they will all just come in at once. He's cute with his little gummy smile though.....and, despite only having two teeth, he bites HARD!

Christmas, Baby!

Here are just a few cute shots from Christmas in California. We had a great time and were constantly on the go. It's nice to be back home and relaxing into our normal schedules.

Matt and I working on our ginger bread house. We had a little bit of crisis with the roof, it weighed 900 lbs....but all turned out great in the end. I would have lived in it.

It's Chistmas..."I'm so happy!"

"Yeah, the bear is cute....but can I keep the box?"

After having our schedules and lives sort of flip-flopped we were all tuckered out.

At the Beach in San Fran

MMMMMM, YUMMY!

Kaden really loved the beach, it was his first time. He just wanted to get down and roll through the sand. I am mean...I didn't let him. Look how cute his outfit is! I didn't want to get it dirty!

Squinting into the sun. Kaden was a happy camper up there.

With Dave and Traci....Grandpa and Granna Barnes

Love this man.

A fun day in San Francisco

We spent a great day in San Francisco visiting all the touristy places. It was a lot of fun, I had never been there as a tourist before. Thought I would post a few of the pictures we took....cause I can ;)

Kador tot has a birthday!

On December 20th our little guy turned 1!!!! We cannot believe how fast time flies by. It has been absolutely wonderful being parents to this precious baby. Here are a few fun pictures from the big day :)

Our friends Katie and Jed passed through on their way home for Christmas, so we met up with them and Andrea & Matt for breakfast. It was great to see them for a little bit.

Enjoying his candy cane in the car. An occasional treat that he loves. He becomes the sticky-est, gooey-est, slobbery-est thing on earth, but I can't resist his cuteness. So sad he has to have bandages on his hands!

This is Kaden's new favorite toy. There are all sorts of moving parts, buttons to push, sounds, etc. He sits on it and dances when the music comes on. He has really good rythm too.....SO CUTE I can hardly stand it. (And that's cake in his nose)

So many new toys!

Look at our mess!

Since this year we were spending Christmas in California, we had a little Christmas with my family on Kaden's birthday (don't worry, we promised him that this would be the ONLY year we do the two together....from now on his birthday will be separate and very special ;). I am modeling the cute new hat and mittens that Matt got me. Love 'em babe!

MMM!!! Yummy cupcakes! He got so excited he tried to stuff the whole thing in his mouth at once....and it went EVERYWHERE. But, he was SO happy!

Happy Birthday little munchkin!

Winter Wonderland

Just before Christmas my friends Heidi, Andrea, and I went cross country skiing by the lake. The trail is literally 1/2 a mile from our doorstep, and THIS is the beautiful view! We had so much fun. I love living in a place where I can find fun things to do outside all year long. Those around me are always glad when I am exercising and getting sunshine...it's the best mood lifter in the world!
