Who is really in charge here?

Since we've been in our house a bad habit has formed. The little rascal just won't stay in his be all night. Around 12 and 4 on the dot, I hear footsteps running through the kitchen. Then a little boy bursts into our room and greets us, "Good mornin'!"

I absolutely love to snuggle with Kaden and I love having him in our bed. I am also so comfy and lazy at 4 am that I don't want to drag him back to his room, so I got into the habit of just letting him lay with us. I think that is why his internal alarm clock is now going off on a regular basis.

He is a squirmy one though. He hogs the covers and my pillow. He tosses and turns and often uses Matt's stomach as his pillow. The bed just isn't big enough for the tree of us. Between he and Matt, I am usually struggling to stay on the bed.

So now I am trying to break the cycle. It's hard for me to carry him back to his own bed. He usually doesn't even put up a fight, but I WANT him with me. I want him to kick and squirm all night, to steal my pillow and push me off the bed. I want to relinquish my space and good night's sleep.

Even though he's been denied his nightly privileges, I can still count on him coming in at 7 to say, "good mornin!" and to cover my face with his sweet kisses. I can live with that.

this and that

I love my boys. I love sunshine. The boys + sunshine is just unbeatable.

Matt is chasing after Kaden. Kaden has been faster for about a year now, but still waits up for dad...sometimes. Matt's a good sport and he loves playing with his son. I love to watch them giggle and be silly.

Little climber is into EVERYTHING these days. His new favorite activity is jumping from couch to couch, to ottoman and back again. He climbs on everything, jumps on everything, and is all over the place. Where will I ever find the energy for 2 boys?!?!?! I think that they will just have to entertain and wear each other out while I watch. Just thinking about it makes me tired!

My Secret...

In case anyone wants in on this--- Here is how it's done...

This is how you gain 10 pounds in 3 weeks. You're welcome.

Oh dear. This is borderline ridiculous; maybe I should slow down?
-
Or maybe you should come over and join me....that would be much more fun!

Annual Roomie Reunion!

Lacey, Andrea, Jess, Jill, and Amber (we missed Ashley!)

This year we met up in Idaho...the birthplace of our lasting friendship. This is the only picture we were all in . We were trying to demonstrate the crazy Idaho wind, but the picture snapped just as it died down. Although, my hair looks quite reminiscent of my high school days...

After this trip, I really felt like I had a hangover....like I needed a detox. 5 girls, 2 babies, not nearly enough sleep, extra laughing, too much sugar, too much food in general, etc. isn't the best formula for feeling good. Oh, but it felt so good while it lasted. We had the best time. I did need a detox and about a week of sleep though!

The Newest Additions:

Jill's little man, Easton. Such a little sweetheart.

Little smiley Natalie. She smiled the entire time and totally melted our heart. She is Lacey's pride and joy. I missed Kaden so much; my arms felt empty! It was kind of nice to have a bit of a break though.

My very best friend in the whole world. I love Andrea.

This picture makes me smile so big. I just love Jill's face...she is hilarious. There is never a dull moment when Jill is around.

Little Redheaded Girls
I have always said, and will always say, a girl needs friends. She needs BEST friends. I love these girls. They light up my life. We have been together through good, bad, ups, downs, tears, and laughter. We will always be there for each other no matter what. I am convinced of this, and count it as one of my happiest blessings.

I love Sunday

Sunday has always been one of my favorite days. It's a day to relax and rejuvenate. This last Sunday we spent the whole afternoon outside. Matt and I were thoroughly entertained by the little mister and his dumptruck, "Dumpy".

I love Sunday...

It's a day to eat good food. And Heaven knows I love good food.

It's a day to imagine and play.

But mostly, it's a day to focus on things spiritual. It's a day to give thanks and remember what life really is all about.
I love Sunday.

For the curious ones

There are always those people that want to see pictures of the growing mommy, and I have been kindly asked to share...so, here are a few. They aren't too interesting because I show late....but in the next 4 weeks I'll pop out like nobody's business...

16 weeks.

20 weeks. this is almost exactly what I looked like with Kaden at this point. I carry SO high!
And I just noticed that mirror is FILTHY....I am blaming the little man on that one (but maybe I should clean it?!?!).
