Little Mister Chubby Guy

Our SWEET little guy on our bed. He must be the most photographed child!

After Kaden's checkup we met up with a friend of mine and her baby and went to the park. It was so sunny and warm, the perfect day to spend outside.

Yesterday (4-27) I took Kaden to his 4 month well-baby check-up. He is 26 1/2 inches long, and 15 lbs 14 oz. He is in the 90th percentile for length (hmmm, wonder why!) and the 75th percentile for weight. At the doctors office they were running WAY behind and Kaden and I ended up waiting for an hour. He was so happy and content the nurses and receptionists couldn't say enough about how sweet he is! I AGREE! He is such a sweetie, and the most mellow, laid back little guy. And I love the chubbiness!!!!!

Fun Day Outside

It was the most beautiful day today. It's been cold lately, so we took advantage of the warm and sunny weather. Matt helped my Dad prune bushes and clean up the yard, and Kaden and I just watched and played. Matt drove the tractor with the trailor back and forth from the bushes my dad was cutting to the burn pile. He had a good time and they got a lot accomplished! We are so excited for summer and warm weather. We love to be outside and there is SO much to do in this beautiful place we live!

Kaden didn't mind the loud noise of the tractor...he even looks
like a little farmer boy in his overalls.

Kaden and I in front of the pond at my parents house.

Matt driving the good 'ole John Deere

Isn't he the cutest little thing you've ever seen?!?! I'm
lovin the sun hat and glasses.

Baby Blessing

Well, since we were so late in starting our blog, I thought I would
give a little update on Kaden's blessing. He was blessed in February,
by his daddy. Matt did such a wonderful job. It was short and sweet,
but I felt like it was all encompassing. The ward was in tears, as they
have witnessed Matt's miraculous improvements, and now, have seen
our miracle baby join our family. After the blessing, Matt proudly held
Kaden up for all to see. It reminded me of the Lion King, and the "Circle
of Life", the way Matt held him up 6' in the air. It was a beautiful day.

Working again....

My little blue-eyed cutie pie!

Temple Square with my Handsome Man

After quite the break, Matt and I are going to start working. Well, I guess I have been working a little bit from home...but it's time to get a move on things! Matt got a job at a restaurant doing odd jobs, prep cooking, landscaping, etc. He will only work there about 10 hrs a week. He is also still helping my Dad with building, fixing, etc. He loves this because it's hands on and fun for him. He is always very happy after they finish a job. We have also filled out an application for vocational rehab and will be meeting with someone within the next few weeks. I think this is really where we need to be heading. They will help train Matt in his preferred area of work, and help him find a job. He is remembering more and more about the inner-workings of a computer. He finished three years of college in computer science, and that is where he really wants to be. I am hoping that he will continue to remember and learn new things, so that someday he can have the job he loves, even if it is only part-time. I am proud of him though. He tries hard and he knows what he wants and where he wants to go. We are also trying to find a class at the community college here that he can audit. It will be good to see how he does in a classroom, how he handles the homework, lectures, etc. I am hoping he does well and can go to school again someday, again, even if only part-time. I know that things take time, so right now we just have to have patience and faith.

I do massage therapy from home and am going to be sending out brochures, cards, etc. for my own home business. I will gradually build up a clientele. It is so nice to be able to work from home. I can schedule my hours however I like, and Matt and Kaden can entertain eachother while I am working. I love my job and it really is fulfilling. In May I will start up again at the spa. This is also an ideal job, it's only 6 miles from our home, my boss is amazing and so easy to work with. The pay and schedule are great too. Today I am starting a once a week job working with kids/adults with handicaps, both mental and physical. It is at the town rec center where they meet daily for crafts, movies, therapy, exercise etc. It is only a few hours a week for me and about 20 minutes from our home. I am excited to do this and I think it will be very rewarding.

I am grateful for the work and thankful my job is so flexible and can provide what we need right now. Eventually, maybe when Kaden is in school, I may go back to school. I am not sure at all what the future holds for us, so right now we just take one day at a time. Things are going well though for the most part. We are happy to be where we are, and happy to see things progressing well for us. Thanks for keeping up on us and our sometimes boring, sometimes exciting lives. :)

Back in Colorado

Sleepy Baby

WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

My best pals....Jill, Me, Andrea

Matt's been gone to Utah for over a week. He went to Highland to spend a week with his family, while Kaden and I stayed home. It is good for a little break every now and then, and he loves to spend time with his mom and siblings. Kaden and I had a fun time here. We went to Farmington to meet up with my friends Jill, Amber, and Andrea. It was a lot of fun to see them again. Kaden and I went up to Utah to pick Matt up last Wednesday and stayed until Sunday. It was fun to reminisce on our time there. I was nastalgic for our old life in Provo. We met there and spent our first year there. I will always look back on that time with fond memories. It was fun to see Matt remember different streets, places, and memories we have. I am always impressed with any memories he can pull. On our way home we stopped in Moab and walked and had a picnic. The weather was beautiful there. Kaden was such a trooper in the car. Matt kept him company in the backseat part of the way. He is such a good daddy. I will post more pictures from our trip when we get them.

Get to work! Matt raking our never ending pine needles.

Fly Baby!!!!

Getting ready to brute the cold.

It's finally warming up around here and we have been loving our time outside. We've been going outside regularly for walks. We also have some fun hanging chairs in our porch, so it's fun to get some fresh air. Matt's been going to physical therapy since January and has really improved his walking. He has hiking poles that he takes on our long walks, and he really zips right along. Kaden loves to be outside too. He is such a trooper and goes along with anything. We have also been spending a few afternoons a week at the rec center.

We work lift weights, do cardio machines, and spend time at the pool. Kaden loves the water, and Matt can get a good workout walking and kicking through the water. I attached a picture of him shooting off the waterslide. Last summer was sank like a rock, and this year he is swimming! It isn't the most beautiful stroke I've seen, but he is overcoming yet another obstacle. It is proof that he continues to improve.

This is our CUTE little Fam. at the pool!

HURRAY for updates!

Well...we are finally joining the craze and becoming bloggers! I figure this is the easiest way to keep people updated on our life, show you pictures, etc. I also hope that it will be easier to get updates out on Matt's progress as he continues to improve and heal from his injuries. I have been doing the mass email thing, but there are so many of you to email, this will be SO much easier! Hopefully I can remember to post often and load pictures. We are doing great. Matt has spent the past week up in Utah with his mom and siblings. It is probably a nice break for him, as he sees me 24/7. Kaden and I have been pal-ing around and having a fun time. He is the sweetest baby. He is so aware of his surroundings and smiles all of the time. He has just started to giggle, and I think it's hilarious and always gets me laughing too. He is such a blessing and joy in our lives. Everyone says he looks just like his daddy...I agree, they are the cutest people I have ever seen!
