tiny music man

Maybe it's only because I am his mom, but I am in awe at this boy's musical talent and interest at such a young age.  He absolutely LOVES music.  He has since he was very tiny, kicking his feet and getting giddy and excited when I would turn it on.  Music is a huge part of my life and I really wish I had spent more time developing those talents.  Music touches me like nothing else.  It expresses so much emotion, gets me pumped, calms me down, inspires me.  I love the soundtrack of my life.  Because I love music so much, of all genres, it's on all of the time.  Beckham will get mad and scream at me if I turn if off, or even down when we are in the car.  When we watched general conference he was glued to the computer screen when the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was singing.  The other night at dinner, he was singing something and as I listened I realized he was singing "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adele.  I love that song, but we rarely listen to it or hear it.  He was hitting every note on key and singing every word.  It was the cutest thing in the world.  I turned the song on and he got so excited.  He swung his arms and bounced his head from side to side and sang along.  He is also obsessed with the Piano Guys.  They are so amazing.  I will turn on their YouTube channel and he will sit mesmerized for as long as I leave it on.

I am impressed with his ability to carry a tune.  He is always on key.  When he hears a song for the first time, by the second time the chorus comes on he is singing along.  If I sing a song, he will immediately repeat me, perfectly in tune.  It really is amazing to me and exciting.  I would be thrilled to pieces to have a child with musical interest and talent.  Beckham has a lot of little interests but he has never really grabbed on to any one thing.  Kaden went through phases of being obsessed with cars, then trains.  Beckham likes a lot of things but nothing really gets him beside himself like music does.  I could not be happier about that.

That is so awesome! Poor Everett... his parents are incapable of carrying a tune or remembering any lyrics to a song. In fact, we just make up our own.
